Yet another month has flown by, and I’m still deep into writing the fifth novella for Book 2. A few weeks ago, I was nearing the end—only a few scenes left—when I had a new idea that opened up the story in an exciting direction. It now ties in even more closely with a key moment from the main trilogy, which I’m really happy about.
Right now, I estimate there are just 1,500 to 2,000 words left to finish this first draft—literally just three sections to go.
I’m now aiming for a Valentine’s Day release: February 14th, 2026. That’s not set in stone just yet, but it’s the date I’ve got in mind.
New Idea: Bonus Short Stories
Lately, I’ve also been thinking about writing some short stories to post here on the blog. These would be set in the same world as the books and would explore:
- Side characters who didn’t get much page time
- New characters who aren’t in the books at all
- Bonus stories for main characters that didn’t quite fit into the novels
One idea I really like is a story from Talon and Evelina’s monster hunting days, maybe told from their perspective, in a diary-style format, as they track down something dangerous.
If that sounds like something you’d enjoy, feel free to drop a comment below. I might just do them anyway—as a bit of creative practice for myself. I’m still learning as I go, after all. Not a trained writer, just someone who loves storytelling.
Thanks for reading 🙂
